Derby Congestion Charging - Online Poll

Derby Conservatives were the only local political group that opposed 100% the introduction of congestion charging in Derby. Following the recent local elections is has now been confirmed that Congestion Charging is unlikely to be introduced. We believed that the Government was holding local councils to ransom by withholding investment in local transport infrastructure unless road charging is introduced. Derby Conservatives felt that this is simply another tax that will do nothing to reduce congestion. Local businesses would have suffered and vital investment in Derby would have been driven away. Over 80% of those taking part in our online poll opposed the Derby Congestion Charge.
