Evonne Williams lives in Spondon and her Spondon roots date back to the early 1800's. Evonne comes from a military family and until her retirement served in the Army Intelligence Corps in the UK, Northern Ireland and Bosnia. Since her election in 2000, Evonne has spent a considerable amount of her time on Council duties. She is a current and past member of the Council Cabinet. Evonne has been actively involved in bringing external funding to Spondon and formed Spondon Youth Initiative to improve the facilities for young people in Spondon. She has also been active in bringing funding to community groups such as Spondon Community Association, Locko Amateur Dramatics Society, Scouts, Guides and the Youth Club. |
