To best maintain the integrity of the poll we have chosen to use a rule that only allows one PC (person) to vote once. However, in some cases, this can also include multiple PC's using a shared home broadband connection and any organisation that has a shared Internet connection or uses a firewall / router between it's computer network and the Internet. While this rule may reduce multiple and valid votes from family and work colleagues sharing an Internet connection, it is the only robust solution available to us that can't easily be altered or bypassed leading to possible multiple votes from one source and abuse of a genuine poll outcome. Alternative methods that do allow multiple votes from PC's within a shared Internet connection and yet try to block multiple votes from one source are easily bypassed and therefore it is felt that while not perfect, our current choice of securing a poll offers us the best option to offer you confidence that we take the integrity of the polls on this site seriously. |
